Tags: Such Charming Exiles: How Two Gay Women Learned to Live Openly and Love Fiercely

Off and running once again! 'Looking forward to the publication of our new book, "Such Charming Exiles," next week. This is the story of the first ten years of our 47-year relationship, telling how we met on a campus roiling with protest, graduate and signed up to teach for the U.S. Military and found ourselves on the other side of our liberal anti-war crusade. We saw the war from the point of view of those who fought it and their experiences changed us forever.
Returning to the U.S. two years later, the world seemed to have changed once again: human rights, women's rights, gay rights, and racial justice. Everyone was coming out, joining movements and speaking "truth to power." These were heady times!
And, finally, we share our own recognition of our personal problems: drinking, having affairs, being dishonest. We realize that our love is fierce enough to commit only to each other and create something greater than ourselves.
That, in a nutshell, is our book. Please read it and tell us what you think.
